How to Select Best Display
for your Classroom
Classroom Display Guide
The MOST IMPORTANT factor to consider a classroom display, is the SIZE OF THE SCREEN. Imagine you go to the movies and they have a display the size of a 55 inch in a theatre with 200 seats.....
Using an EFFECTIVE SIZED DISPLAY in a classroom is equally important for an effective learning environment.
A Simple guideline is the following.... the student at the back of the classroom must be able to see the content displayed.
#1 SOLUTION - Display the size of the middle section of your Chalkboard is the perfect size, similar to an 80" TV Screen. Also cover this section of your chalkboard with a Non-reflective Film which doubles as a writing board / Projection screen.

CLASSROOM DISPLAY SIMPLIFIED
There are many factors to consider when considering a display in your classroom. Here we highlight the 4 MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES:
#1. Size of your classroom
#2. Ambient light (lights and windows)
#3. Budget
Keeping these factors in mind, we tried to offer the best "Umbrella" advice possible where the display you install will offer the best all-round features as required to improve the pedagogy process.
Ambient light is the second most important issue w.r.t. classroom displays. If the projector light source is too weak the display will be "Washed Out", meaning that the students will not be able to view the content displayed clearly. Two IMPORTANT ways to solve this issue is,
SOLUTION
Install a projector with at least 3000 ANSI Lumens. This is the standard "Full Colour Spektrum" light intensity produced by the projector.
Add curtains / blinds on the sunny side of your classroom.
#2 : Ambient Light
Projector prices are determined by:
1. Brand - Some brands are more expensive
2. Throw Distance - Closer to the board, more expensive
3. ANSI Lumens (Brightness) - Brighter, more expensive
4. Resolution - Higher Resolution (Smaller Pixels), more expensive
5. Contrast Ratio (Difference between dark & light colours) - Higher, more expensive
SOLUTION
Long Throw, 3,000 ANSI Lumens, XGA Projector. Any Brand will suffice. All projectors need to be installed, for moving them around, reduces the lamp life and may even cause damage to the lamp. A long throw projector with chalkboard conversion is the cleanest and most cost effective projector installation. To this you can even add Interactivity and a document camera without breaking the bank, by using your smartphone and touchscreen tablet/PC.
